Erik’s Blog

About Me

This blog is a convenient notepad for Erik Josowitz. I am kind of a polymath whose career has spanned architecture, graphic and interactive design, software marketing and strategy and political consulting. My career began in graphic design for major computer software and hardware companies. I also designed the companion book to the film, “Dazed and Confused.” My interactive design work has won awards and was featured in major publications. I was a member of the founding management team at Vignette and grew that company to over $300M in annual revenue and to become one of the most successful IPOs of the late 1990s as VP Product Marketing and VP Corporate Strategy. Since leaving Vignette in 2001 I have worked with a number of software startups including SoloMio (now Openwave) and Rocksteady Networks. Most recently I was the VP Marketing and Product Strategy for Surgient, a software company developing solutions that automate the use of virtual server infrastructure. I have a degree in architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT I was involved with the creation of a series of international conferences on virtual reality and technology called the International Conferences on Cyberspace. I was also involved with  the Research Institute for Experimental Architecture and participated in their 1989 conference on architecture and antigravity.
